What Sets Our Events Apart
A fully managed experience that connects your team to a real service member from start to finish.
Know Who You're Packing For
Every employee receives a fact sheet about the specific deployed service member their package is going to — name, branch, role, and impactful stories. You're not packing for a stranger.
Card Writing Station Included
Employees write personal messages directly to the service member they just packed for. Complimentary branded stationery with your company logo is included at no extra cost.
We Come to You — Anywhere
Everything ships directly to your office or event space, anywhere in the United States. No travel to an offsite location required.
Built Around Your Budget
Tell us your headcount and total budget and we'll recommend the right package size to make the most of every dollar. No rigid tiers — just a plan built around what you have.
Real Support. Real Impact.
Every care package we send goes to a verified, active-duty service member.
Every month, deployed troops from every branch of the military submit care package requests directly through our program. We verify each one through their official .mil military email address — so you know every package your team assembles is going somewhere real, to someone who is actually out there serving.
Here's how it works:
- Service members request support through our program and are verified via their .mil email address
- We maintain an active list of verified requests and match your packages to real, named recipients
- Before your event, each employee receives a fact sheet with their recipient's name, branch, role, and deployment information
- Employees write their cards to that specific person — not "to any service member," but to someone they now know by name
- Companies with their own recipients (employees with family or friends deployed) can send directly to them instead — we support both

Built for Teams That Aren't in the Same Building
The Remote Team Giving Program lets distributed companies participate in a meaningful military giving experience without requiring anyone to travel or coordinate schedules.
Here's how it works:
- We partner with your point of contact to design 1–3 custom care package options at price points that fit your budget
- Your team receives a link to a private ordering page
- Each employee picks a package, adds a personal gift message, and checks out — no shipping address needed
- We build, pack, and ship each package to a verified, active-duty service member with your company's branded stationery included
Prefer a hands-off approach? Your company can contribute a set dollar amount and we'll send care packages on your behalf — same branding, same impact, zero lift on your end.
Every package goes to a verified service member.

Frequently Asked Questions
Team Building FAQ
Everything you need to know about planning a military care package assembly event with your team - from group size and logistics to pricing and branding.
Planning Your Event
Our program is designed to scale. Whether you have a small team of 6 or a large organization of 100+, we can build an event around your group size and budget.
The main consideration is space. Your team needs enough room to spread out comfortably and work side by side. Large meeting rooms, spacious hallways, cafeterias, and classrooms all work well. If you're unsure whether your space is a good fit, just reach out - we're happy to help you think through the setup.
Most events run between 1.5 and 2 hours from start to finish. That includes assembling the care packages, writing personal cards at the card writing station, sealing the boxes, and applying shipping labels.
Larger groups may run slightly longer, but the format is naturally self-paced so it rarely feels rushed.
For most events, we recommend reaching out 3-4 weeks in advance. This gives us enough time to coordinate your kit order, branding, recipient matching, and shipping to your location without any last-minute pressure.
Smaller events under 16 packages can often come together faster - reach out and we'll let you know what's possible. For larger events of 65 or more packages, we ask for more lead time to make sure everything arrives on schedule and nothing gets rushed.
We come to you - anywhere in the United States. Everything your team needs is shipped directly to your office or event location before the event date. There's no travel required on your end, and no need to source supplies yourself.
Your Impact Coordinator handles all the logistics from order to delivery so the only thing your team needs to do is show up ready to pack.
Yes. We offer complimentary branded stationery with your company logo on the cards your employees write for qualifying orders. It's a small touch that makes the event feel intentional and reinforces your company's connection to the mission.
Branding options are coordinated through your Impact Coordinator during the planning process.
Yes, but any custom items need to be approved by our team before the event. Military care packages are subject to strict restrictions set by the Department of Defense and international customs regulations, and certain items - including food, electronics, and tools - cannot be imported to many deployment locations without prior approval.
Handwritten letters and personal drawings are always allowed and genuinely encouraged - they're often the most meaningful thing in the box. For anything else, reach out to us before the event and we'll let you know right away.
Pricing
There are three cost components to a team building event:
| Component | Details |
|---|---|
| Care Package | Small (10-12 items) $45 · Medium (15-20 items) $60 · Large (28-36 items) $90. Custom packages built to a specific budget are also available. |
| Recipient Shipping Labels | $10-15 per care package. This covers USPS postage to ship each package to a verified, active-duty service member. If your team has their own recipients and provides labels, this cost is handled on your end. |
| Materials Shipping | Covers the cost to ship the assembly kits to your event location. Cost varies by event size and location - see below. |
Small events (under ~30 packages): Shipped via UPS/FedEx. Recent examples - 7 medium kits to Pennsylvania: $39 · 6 medium kits to Maryland: $40.
Large events (65+ packages): We ship on a pallet, which is actually more cost-effective than boxing and shipping individually. Pallet shipping generally runs $240-$500 depending on destination and volume.
Phoenix metro area: We deliver locally at no additional shipping cost.
Yes. If the standard Small, Medium, or Large options don't line up with your per-person budget, we can build a custom care package at a price point that works for you. Tell us your headcount and total budget and we'll recommend the right size and quantity - or build something in between.
Recipient shipping is a cost to account for regardless of which path you take - it's the postage to get each finished care package to a deployed service member. If you use our verified recipient list, we include prepaid USPS shipping labels at $10-15 per package. If your team has their own recipients, you or your employees can provide the shipping labels directly.
Logistics & Shipping
Hero Care Packages provides all the shipping labels needed for the event. Once your team has assembled and sealed each box, they apply the pre-printed shipping label - it takes about 30 seconds per package.
From there, you have two options: schedule a USPS pickup directly from your office or event space, or drop the packages off as a group at the nearest USPS location. Either way, the packages are in the mail the same day as the event.
You have two options. We maintain a verified list of active-duty service members who have specifically requested support - confirmed through their official .mil military email address. If you use our list, your packages go to real troops who are expecting them.
If your company has employees with family members or friends currently deployed, you can address packages directly to them instead. Either way, every package reaches someone who has served.
Before the event, each participant receives a fact sheet about their specific recipient - name, branch, role, and deployment information. Your team knows exactly who they are packing for before they open a single box, which is what transforms a fun activity into something genuinely meaningful.
Yes - and this is one of the things that makes our events different from a generic packing activity. Before the event, each participant receives a fact sheet about the specific service member their package is going to: name, branch, role, and deployment information. They know exactly who they're packing for before they open a single box.
That connection is what turns a fun event into something people talk about long after it's over.
Remote & Distributed Teams
Yes - we built the Remote Team Giving Program specifically for distributed teams who can't gather in one place. Instead of assembling packages together, individual employees sponsor and personalize their own care package from wherever they are.
We work with your company to design 1-3 custom care package options. Employees visit a dedicated product page, add a personal gift message, and check out - no shipping address needed. We handle everything else, including building the package, printing their message, and shipping it to a verified service member with your company's branded stationery included.
Yes. Companies can donate a fixed dollar amount and we'll send care packages to verified service members using those funds, complete with your company's branded stationery and a shared gift message. It's the most hands-off option and works well for companies that want a meaningful corporate giving program without adding steps for employees.
